Our goal at Apple Jacks Daycare is to prepare children for the next stage of their lives through the development of motor abilities, thinking skills and healthy interactions with their peers.
Our Roots
Apple Jacks has been running for 26 years and counting. We have three in-home facilities! We are state licensed and partnered with the food program. We use a system called Bright Wheel to live track your child's entire day for you!
At Apple Jacks Daycare, we are dedicated to creating a nurturing, engaging and welcoming environment for all children. Apple Jacks is a structured, play-based learning program that incorporates a variety of educational opportunities, while always keeping the child’s best interest in mind and allowing for hands-on, experiential learning.
Programs
*Infant/Toddler: 3719 Marchfield Place (6weeks-2yrs)
*Pre-School: 9515 Spurwood Ct (2-4yr)
*Pre-K: 9540 Spurwood Ct (3-6yr)
Outdoor Play/musical time
Outdoor play is offered as much as possible. Whenever we are able, we get outside for playtime. We have scheduled music times throughout each week that offers a fun experience.
Craft time/Science/Cooking
We send home one craft per week. We also do one science experiment with the children per week. Once a month we demonstrate a cooking experiment the kids get to enjoy after we're done learning how to make it!
Imaginative Play/hands on/Circle time
We put the kids education at top priority but also value our scheduled play times. At Apple Jack's your child will have the opportunity to learn and grow by following a school-like schedule that will prepare them for the next step in life.
Schedule and Activities
Each location has a schedule they follow daily. This will include what time breakfast, lunch, and snack are provided. Also includes diaper change times, play times, circle time, and TV time. We can confidently say these schedules are followed to almost the exact times which you would see on Bright wheel (system we use to track your children's entire day) once enrolled with us. Each location also uses progress reports to track the children's milestones that get sent home to each family twice a year! At Apple Jacks we truly believe that consistency is the most important aspect in a child's growth. We've seen children thrive through this program for the last 26 years and excel throughout school after going through Apple Jacks Daycare.

Theresa Wimes
Infant/Toddler Head Teacher
Meet Theresa! With a nurturing personality and hands-on approach towards learning, we are thrilled to have Theresa as a part of our team. Her commitment and patience to the children shows daily! She truly treats all the babies as one of her own.
Shana Swartzentruber
Pre-school Head Teacher
Meet Shana! Possessing a contagious enthusiasm, Shana has been an amazing asset for Apple Jacks Daycare. Her warmth, creativity and energy with the children makes her a perfect fit for this fun... but challenging age group!
Roxann Nieno
Pre-K Head Teacher
Meet Roxann! Roxann has been with Apple Jacks for 13 years! We gave her the name of "our crafty grandma".. she always has the best crafts for the kids! Everyday she shows up ready to give her all to the children. We will forever be indebted to her hard work and reliability she gives to this company!
Hadley Melton
Pre-K Head teacher

Meet Hadley! Hadley has always had a passion for children as she watched her mom run her childcare out of her house for most of her childhood years. She is currently attending University of Saint Francis to study medical imaging. She spends most of her time caring for her plants, spending time with family, and reading!
Austin Krider
Director/Owner
Austin has been around Apple Jacks since the beginning. AJ, his mother started the business when he was born so she could stay home. Austin officially took over in 2021. He has kept the standard but has made a lot of great changes as well! He graduated from Siena Heights University with a Business degree as well as playing football. "My goal is to continue to provide great care for families while having excellent communication along the way." Austin is proud to continue this business and will strive
to look for ways it can be a 2nd home for your child.
Caelan McAbee
Manager
Caelan has been apart of Apple Jacks for 5+ years. During her time, she has been a Head Teacher at all 3 locations. This experience has provided the knowledge that is needed for her role! She is born and raised in Fort Wayne! If you ask anyone who knows her they would say she is living her dream, working with children. Caelan's hard work and determination is continuously shown around Apple Jacks. Outside of work you can find her walking her dogs, cleaning and enjoying time with her family.

Apple Jacks daycare provides exceptional care and learning opportunities for your children. We strive for perfection day in and day out in everything we do! Our outstanding relationships with our families sets us apart from the rest. We not only care for your children for 8+ hours a day but we also build an excellent relationship with every single family. We look at each child not as a number but truly a part of our family!

Our communication is top notch. At Apple Jacks you will never feel left in the dark. Our teachers communicate the good, bad, and the ugly because we truly care about every single child. We use a program called Brightwheel which allows parents to see every part of your child's day while you are at work. This allows for pictures, meals, and daily updates to keep you in the loop ALL day long.

We keep our facilities VERY clean. With 16 children at each facility comes a lot of germs but with thorough daily cleaning those germs can be lessened and keep everyone healthy!

We follow state rules and regulations to a T. We are very strict rule followers to keep the standard of Apple Jacks at its best. Our state representative comes out 3-6 times a year as well as our food program rep to make sure we are following policy/up to date on curriculum.
